There will be no “November” trade instructions. No, nothing is wrong and no trade instructions are actually getting skipped – we’re just changing how we label the monthly posts. Here’s the deal:

I’ve always thought it a bit strange that any given month’s “Pro-Folio” trade instructions are issued at the end of the month. Most of the time it will be the following month when you are reading the latest post. As a result, reading “October’s” trade instructions in November may make it feel like one of us is out of sync.

Finally I have decided to do something about it. It’s a small change, really, but here’s the plan: each month-end post that I write will be labeled with the following month’s name. For example, I’m about to write the trade instructions based on the market data for the month ending November 30, 2012. By the old method, this post would be called the “November” trade instructions, but everyone will read it in December. From now on, I’m going to call it the “December” trade instructions. Not one thing has changed in the timing of the investment evaluation or the post, I’m just changing the label.

This means THERE WILL BE NO “NOVEMBER” TRADE INSTRUCTIONS. The next blog post will be called DECEMBER trade instructions. You haven’t missed anything, we’re just updating how we label the posts. I hope that makes sense!
